Welcome!

Dear friends,

Many of you already know that Ed and I sold the ATR brand to Infobae in May of last year. Ed remains as a consultant and contributor, but I left at the end of January to focus on our then-upcoming move to Florida.

All I can say is – Whew! We made it.

The past few months have been like living in the middle of a tornado: selling a house, buying a house, renovating the new house after several years renovating on the old house. It seemed like the shifting of boxes (and shifting, and shifting) would never end.

But here we are, finally. Most of the boxes have been emptied and sent to recycling. The office has been set up. The address has been changed. Most of the maddening minutia of moving has been brought under control.

I won’t kid you: despite the never-ending, exhausting labors of the last six months, I have enjoyed every minute of my relative freedom. I have not missed my old responsibilities for one nano-second.

But the truth of the matter is – I miss you.

Yes – you.

And you and you and you.

Some of our paths will cross again as we get closer to Paris 2024 and Milan-Cortina 2026.

But many others of us will never see each other again.

That’s why it seemed important to launch this blog – so we can maintain the relationships that have defined our lives and careers for the last 25+ years.

Hula Sport Communications is the latest iteration of the Ed and Sheila Hula Show, minus the newsletter.

It’s intended to provide many of the same services we always have, except in different formats and for different situations.

We can help advise on your organizational communications … answer questions about image … provide introductions to stakeholders across sport … and, of course, we can deliver your message to maximum effect.

But back to this blog!

What will we talk about each week? A lot of that is still TBD.

One week it might be my musings on an issue in sport. Another week it might be Ed and Sheila’s Top 10 Destination Bakeries — reader input gladly welcomed! Maybe there will be an interview with a friend involved in world sport. Another time it might be an essay about life in central Florida.

Who knows?

All I know is we will have fun. We’ll write about whatever strikes our fancy — perhaps light, perhaps serious.

But the most important thing I hope to accomplish is to maintain the personal relationship I’ve had with so many of you. Each and every one of you is meaningful to me.

Well, I guess that’s about it for this week.

Until next time, my wish for each of you: peace, prosperity, goodwill and rain. Just not too much rain.

Warmest regards,
Sheila S. Hula
